'Productivity' Power Hour.

Sixty-eight minutes of an off-duty psychologist doing the unglamorous part: coffee, background music that keeps falling asleep, and editing a thinking-traps video one stumble at a time. Nothing is performed. Work along if you want company.

A live work-along, recorded as it happened. The plan was to get through a pile of projects; what you get is the real texture of that — the system crash recovery, the hunt for a beat that isn't sleepy, and a long stretch at the editing table trimming a 25-minute video about cognitive distortions.

Along the way the distortions turn up in the work itself: minimising ('that was nothing, anyone could do it'), black-and-white thinking ('if this take isn't perfect the whole thing is ruined'), fortune telling about how a video will land before anyone has seen it. The point of the stream, said out loud more than once: the first fifty are practice, and the only way through is reps.

Ambient by design. Chestnuts were eaten.

What’s in it.

  1. 0:00Coffee first — a work-along, not a lecture

The take-aways.

  • The first fifty are practice. Treat reps as the product, not the polish.
  • 'That was nothing' is minimising. Name the real effort and the real impact before you dismiss it.
  • Let software do the boring part — filler words, silences — and keep your attention for the judgement calls.
  • A work-along is allowed to be boring. Company while you work is the whole offer.

If you want to go further.

Hey, everybody. I am in the middle of some projects, actually, and I thought, you know what? I was kind of getting through and doing a bunch of projects, actually, just working on stuff. Grab your coffee. I am going to jump out for a minute because I should have started before I did that. But anyway, so I was working on some projects, and I can kind of show you some of these as well. But basically, I thought, I'm sitting here anyway, and I might like to just get some work done. And so finish this, finish that, and before you know it, everything is getting delayed. So I wonder what happens if I press pause here. It doesn't function, because it's live streaming, obviously. But if we click that, that's going to end.

So what we need to do is maybe play one of my previous things over here that you can listen to, and we can all cringe out together. Let's see how that goes. Okay, so I wonder how this will end, because there's a lot going on, and I've just recovered from a colossal system crash. I'm walking around the house, and if you're wondering what this is, it is a day in the life of an off-duty psychologist.

Now I feel like a coffee. So it's going to get noisy. If you like ambient sound, stick around. I'll just rinse out my old cup. You know, I figure I'm kind of just sticking around anyway. Some things are seemingly complicated at first, extremely frustrating, highly stressful, and I thought maybe I'll peel back a layer of reality to confront myself.

All right, that's just about enough of that, I think. So here's what I'm doing. I've got this website that I've kind of built for this webpage, I've built for this channel, which is the frustratingly I've got a very simple landing page. And so one of the first things that I had done was was kind of had these tabled episodes to kind of work through. And then, yeah, what's happening there?

I'm just going to make sure that we cycle properly. Yeah, it's a bit slow. Maybe I will have a different icon for that one. Yeah, so the stream deck episode was supposed to be, because I did that a long time ago. I actually, I couldn't be bothered by clicking through finding individual audio files and workflows and shortcuts. So I just wrote a list to Claude and said, you know, just build it, just fill it all in and do it for me. I find sample images, overlays, find sound effects, find mood music, mute music. And I just said, you know, find the device, make sure we had, we had to go back and forth a few times. And so the operating system that I'm using for my AI is, what was his name? Andre Kapathi, is that sort of that wiki based system that I've kind of worked through a few times. And so I've built that, I've even deployed that. I've got that and that's available at some point. But what I was doing now is I was kind of editing this. Where did all that come from? It's very unstructured. I was kind of editing my video through Submagic. And you get to see behind the scenes a little bit of how, how things are on, on my, on my end. While I'm, I wonder if I can, is that something I can show? Let's find a way. Is that gonna, ah, here we go. I've got my, got my chestnuts there. Let's have a look. Let's get a proper angle on these. Yes. Yeah. Bismillah.

Okay. So we were talking about editing my videos. And then I came across some mood music and I wanted to check in on how I might kind of get a flow going. Because when I, when I land an episode, um, I want to be able to kind of automate as much as possible. And so, you know, A lit to B, B lit to C, and, and, uh, now I'm eating chestnuts on the live stream.

Um, but the idea was to have, uh, have a bunch of music that is kind of, um, you know, percussion or beat based just for background. And, um, I thought, Hey, let's, let's look at it together. So I've got some, um, I'm on this Envato website now. Everything's paid, obviously, but I was just trying to find some royalty-free beats for like mood and background. Let's have a look.

And I'll leave it there for a second. Just a generic, percussive beat. Let's maybe pop in some bass and see what happens. Corporate loop. Oh no, that's familiar. This sounds like a... What does it sound like? It's evoking skip vibes. It's making me want to just swipe. What is that? It really is corporate. It's like corporate beat rolls.

Soft background. It's like a commercial music for Facebook or something. We have a new feature. New shoes. New sports brand. Epic back sound. Oh, that's not bad. Not what I'm looking for. But I like it. Can I down there? Oof. No, maybe not. So... Submagic's got some interesting ones and I thought I quite liked... There was one over here.

Maybe you can... If you want to jump on and interact, we can have a look as well. Where is... Where are the people? That's an impression of... What was his name? From Seinfeld? Babu? Anyway. This guy. What's his name? Babu... From Seinfeld. He says, You have a bad... Bad people. Is that his name? Babu. Yeah, I was all right.

Let's watch that. Is that like a... Poor Babu! Everything was going so well for him! He had an apartment, he had a job! What a shame! Jerry! He's in Pakistan! Where is it? There we go. Show me Babu! Where is Babu? Be fixed! I'm sure the lawyer did everything they could! And there is Babu! What happened to Babu?

What happened to Babu? Yeah, there we go. Alright, so... I had some beats over here and I thought, you know what? Some of these might be useful. Lo-fi, that's not bad. Interesting. I found this one here. Kind of. That's not bad. I'm going to mark that one. You might hear some of these. It's for... This video is what I'm doing here.

Am I pointing in the right direction? I've got to point at the screen. Okay, I'm getting my orientation done. Yeah, that's a little too chill. It's going to put people to sleep. Storyblocks Audio. It's a... Voice mind. Anyway, that was an interesting one and then this one here was, I thought, quite interesting. Oh, heartbeat. Here we go. Storyblocks Audio.

Oh, is it just the... Storyblocks Audio. Storyblocks Audio. Is that coming through? Oh, these are... Storyblocks Audio. These are literally just... What do they call it when they do that sound design? When they crunch and crinkle wrapping paper and make it sound like something's being crushed? I thought I had some... Maybe it was it under Trendy. Trendy Podcast.

Yeah, it was this one. Anyway, uh... I'm not sure where to go now. There we go. Tiki, tiki... No. No. Am I gonna get... Copyright? I hope these are all like... Royalty-free. And if they're not, we'll find out. Oh, gosh. These are all like... These aren't... These don't seem... Like they're royalty-free. Anyway, let's go back to... Uh... Let's go back to finding some of these.

And if we find... So the other thing that I was doing... So I was automating... Oh, gosh. It's that commercial thing. Corporate commercial. Where did it go? Uh... Royalty-free... Royalty-free, um... Drum ambience. Yeah. It's funny because royalty-free... And then... Everything's on a... Behind the paywall. Let's go down to like... The ninth page and see what happens there. Free drums mega-pack.

All right. All right. What happened to the old... Uh... What happened to the old... You know... What do you call them? Uh... Gosh, I've gone lost for words. It's the wrong time to have tip of the tongue right now. Pop sessions, soft drums... Mega... No. Let's go back to page one. Download free drum sound effects. No, I don't want a sound board.

Does this work? Gosh, I just want... Lo-fi. Let's try it. Let's try that. Everything just keeps going epidemic. Really sloppy. Anyway, I'll go back to what we were doing before. Uh... I can just add... Let's see if there's a Zen one, maybe. This would kind of work for a mental health channel. Storyblocks audio. Yeah. Good. No, that's not bad.

I like this one. I like that. I think I'm going to use this. Let's try this one. Get your chestnuts going. Get your coffee. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going.

Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. Get your chestnuts going. dicks. Get your chestnuts. Get your chestnuts.

Ebbio. Get your chestnuts. So, let's see what that looks like, but didn't show you the whole picture. So, in clinical psychology, we sometimes call this a cognitive distortion, and it's a habit that can bend or make us misperceive what actually happened, what might be happening in reality. So, it can affect how we feel, how we think, how we behave, and so even how we make decisions as well.

Sometimes, we do these things and it's not right or wrong, it's just we have to exercise a little bit of attention and conscious thought about how we kind of go about this. So, the goal is to notice them and challenge them, not to fight with yourself or make yourself wrong. So, in this video, I'm going to go through some cognitive distortions that might be familiar to you that are well known, and this can kind of help you understand maybe which ones apply to you, and if you need to intervene, and when you need to intervene.

Okay. That's not bad. So, let's... Alright. So, I'm going to... I've got a... I'm going to say... Let me just change the titling here. Is that? I'm just going to leave that. I can't be bothered right now. We'll deal with it later. Now, remove silences. I'm just going to go to captions, and if you're only listening to this, by the way, come and find me on the main channel on YouTube if you want to watch.

So, I haven't set up the other socials just yet. So, I am at frustratingly simple. So, if we go to... Yeah. At frustratingly... Because some things are just frustratingly simple, and some things are just simply frustrating. That's me chewing on a chestnut. It's a very strange experience for me because I've been offline for a long time of my life, and it's not something that I'm used to.

I feel like a person out of time, playing with these new high-resolution toys. But let's go to edit scenes, and I have to just chop the timeline a little bit over here. With... With this thing. No. This one. Okay. So, let's go to trim video. Oh, yeah. Chestnut time. Yeah. There was a section here where I had... I had...

I had made a couple of mistakes, and I wanted to go back. I wanted to go back. Scripts rewrite review. Is that the one? No. That's not the one. Where was it? I opened it through... I had it open through... Through Ecamm. And what ended up happening was, there's a button to add markers. I've got to find how to find markers.

Yeah. Where are the saved markers on Ecamm? Okay. They're right in the folder. Let's have a look. Yes, they are indeed. Okay. So, at the... At the minute... You can't see what I'm looking at, because I've... So, at the 12... At the minute 12... There's a section here where I stuffed up the... Let's just fit all of that in first.

Where was the actual... Beat? Is this cycling in the wrong direction? So many things going on. I've got to get used to all of this. And right now... I can appreciate this is very... Disorienting and... Discombobulating. And very confusing. If you haven't been here before... My name's Ilker and I am just doing my reps to get some... To get some content up.

This is just my casual channel. I've got my sort of main channel, which is the Mindspan channel. This is kind of just a little bit of behind the scenes stuff that's happening over here. But I had... It's such an annoying thing. Here it shows me time. Like... Hours, minutes and seconds. And then here it's like a full... Summary.

Where are we? Uh... Minute 17. Did a... Some quick calculations in my... Chestnut brain. There we go. Mmm... It's about there. Goodo. Let's have a look at... I don't know if I want to edit this out. Goodo. Let's have a look at... I don't know if I want to edit this out. Goodo. Let's have... Mmm... It's about there.

Goodo. Let's have a look at... I don't know if I want to edit this out. Goodo. Let's have... So if you're watching this, first thing, don't watch this because it's going to be a waste of time. If you're not going to benefit any, you're just going to watch me eating chestnuts and making decisions out loud. And if you are going to watch this, you can sort of see my actual workflow, how I kind of use what I'm supposed to be doing, um, the resources that I've got, my particular editing process, and if it's at all, um, useful or inspirational for you, then it might be something you can just jump on, jump on and, um, get started on that project that you want it to get done, an objective description.

So, when we say, you know, it's raining, um, it's raining a lot, you know, a lot is not really a way to measure anything really. That was minimizing. No, that wasn't minimizing. That's what it is. Here we go. So, that is magnifying. Now we're going to look at something we call minimizing. If I edit this out, I'll edit it out.

Otherwise, you'll see all of this and that's fine. We'll have a bit of a laugh. Um, it doesn't matter that they're in or out of sequence, so it should be fine. The next one is called minimizing. And minimizing is in clinical psychology what we call a cognitive distortion. It's a kind of thinking style, uh, a thinking trap, as you may have heard it in different settings, perhaps.

And so, what this is, is essentially when you're making something, um, important or positive look much smaller than it is. And so, it could be reductionistic, it could be something that's, um, yeah, just minimizing. So, for instance, you might have a difficult task, uh, and say, oh, it was nothing, and just kind of pass it off as, um, nothing, nothing to do.

It was just before the 12.09 mark. Let's go from 12. But you're sending upstairs, um, doesn't automatically go up as fact. We're running a filter, and we're double-checking before we send it up. All right, good-o. Let's have a look at the next one now, which is going to be something is, which is called, uh, mind reading. Mind reading.

Yeah, that's where I made a mistake. Okay, so I'm going to pause. Double-clicked it. Let's zoom in. And this kind of makes you appreciate how much work goes into, you know, how, when people talk about teams, and they've got, you know, production studios, and detailed workflows, and multiple channels, and, you know, coming up with and designing content, um, making it useful, making it valuable.

Which is called, uh, mind reading. Mind reading. There's so much involved. So, I guess this is my way of getting my repetitions, um, so that I can, you know, um, make this more habitual, and make it, uh, a little bit easier for me to, to sort of do. So, that there, can I open and stretch that? You'd think it's the first time I'm doing this.

Okay, so I'm going to do that take again, because I accidentally jumped to the wrong thing. Uh, mind reading. Mind reading. Next one now, which is going to be before we send it up. All right. Um, doesn't automatically go up as fact. We're running a, a filter, and we're double-checking before we send it up. All right. All right, good-o.

Let's. All right, good-o. Let's have a look at the next one now, which is going. All right, so if we go over here, before we send it up, that's where I'll start the cut. Okay, something was done there. And I also want to show, um, how, this is annoying. Should have just cut where I landed. Okay, if I just press B.

Just cut it, dude. Ah, I don't want to misclick now. Here we go. Maybe if I just chop this out. Oh, did it. Let's see if that works. Okay, so. Too much. Go up as fact. We're running a, a filter, and we're double-checking before we send it up. I need to undo these because, I don't know what happened there.

The timeline's mangled. Oh, yes. Time for a chestnut. Should call this the chestnut stream. That might be more useful than what's going on over there. Okay. Okay. Stop. All right. Goodo. Let's have a look at the next one now, which is. This is going to take forever. All right. Goodo. Before we send it up. That's where it needs to land.

All right. Maybe it's all right. Get a bit more zoomed in and find the line between the breath, between the words. And we're double-checking before we send it up, before we send it up. All right. Right there. Okay. Chop. Does that work? Okay. That worked. All right. Goodo. Let's have a look at the next one now, which is going to be something is.

And then I fixed it over here. The next one's called minimizing. It's a kind of thinking style. Is it all right? Okay. Okay. So let's see if we can. It's a kind of thinking style. Yeah. Next one's called me. Okay. So I will land it there. Fit the zoom. Bring it back in. That's where I've got to do the cut.

Get out of cut mode. So it should be fine. The next one is called minimizing. Should have taken a longer breath. Out of sequence. Out of sequence. This is how you learn. Sequence. So it should be fine. The next one is fine. The next one is called minimizing. And minimizing is in clinical science. It should be fine. The next one is called minimizing.

It should be fine. The next one is called minimizing. Minimizing. And minimizing. The next one. Let's have it where it says the next one. Where am I? Allahumma sallallahu alayhi wa sallam wa rahmad. Here we go. The next one is called minimizing. So I'll add that. I'll go here. Space and stop. You'll be fine. The next one is called...

Ah, so fast. There's got to be a better way to do this. Okay. The next one is called minimizing. Yeah. I'll just cut it there. Let's see. Even if it doesn't stop right on the... It'll be on... It'll just say next one. I'll just want to check one more time. The next one is called minimizing. Good enough. Get the chop chop tool out.

There's a shortcut there. Is that B? Yes, that's B. Okay. And let's align the little thingamajig. And let us get that in. And by the way, this is something that I'm kind of doing to actually learn how to put... my screen on the screen so that I can actually do tutorials once I've got a bit more proficiency, once I kind of get over this hump, whether it's AI stuff or building things or on-screen presentations or, you know, analyses, reactions.

You know, this is kind of... This is helpful for me to get my own competence up and running. Okay. So let's chop there. 12, 41, 90. Ah, close enough. Okay. And then we'll fit and we'll pull out that chunk there. I'm just going to delete that. And let's see what that looks like now. So you can have a look at it together.

See, I'm learning this. And it's something that for how I'm wanting to... I can just create... I want to create actually another scene that's kind of like this, but with me smaller. So I might say... I might call... This says 50-50. It's not 50. It's more like 40-60. I want to do one that's like 20, 80 SBS side by side.

And then what I'm going to do is start that one, get my own thing going over here and make this. That's the same as the other one. I kind of want it to... Is there a way to... Yeah, let's make that like a tall one here. Is that... Can I reset the crop? Yeah, reset the crop. Anyway, get on with it, buddy.

In any case, let me just make sure that that's fully expanded. So I'll have that there. Then I want to kind of have this a bit bigger. And that can be like a new... A new style of looking at the screen. And I found this background thing. I'm bouncing all around. I'm overwhelmed because there's so much going on here.

So that's a good one. And then what I want to do is also... There was a... You know, that blue background that's kind of with the dots in the background there. That's actually a kind of... It was an animated background that I just pulled into Ecamm. And you just kind of show it on all scenes as a background and overlay.

And it just works so good. It's called Blue... What is it called? Blue Pixel Ecamm. I can find more. But I just want to focus on this first. And let's see how this turned out. Let's go back to my new... What did we call it? 80-20? Where did it go? 50-50? No, that's not the one. That's 50-50 there.

Side view. And then there's my ugly mug talking head. And then we've got... Where did I put that? 20-80. This is the one. Okay. So I'll just pause there for a sec. And let's have a look at how that turned out. Then learn about something called metacognition. It's a skill that helps you think about your thinking. The goal here is to take notice and be deliberate in how you actually process your thoughts so that what you're sending upstairs doesn't automatically go up as fact.

We're running a filter and we're double-checking before we send it up. The next one is called minimizing. And minimizing is, in clinical psychology, what we call a cognitive distortion. It's a kind of thinking style, a thinking trap. I've repeated myself over and over again because I wanted to record in batch. Let's get the right scene going here. There we are.

No, wrong one again. Yes. I recorded in batch and so I repeated each cognitive distortion so that when we see it now in Submagic, to cut it up, each clip can then be kind of reused. I know it's a little bit of a budget way, but look, we're time poor and we have things to do. That was not water.

And now my hands are sticky. So what I'll do, I'll just have you watch this while I rinse my hands. So that seemed to work out. I'll come back in a second. A thinking trap, as you may have heard it in different settings perhaps. And so what this is, is essentially when you're making something important or positive look much smaller than it is.

And so it could be reductionistic. It could be something that's, yeah, just minimizing. So, for instance, you might have a difficult task and say, oh, it was nothing and just kind of pass it off as nothing to do or not acknowledge the effort that it truly was. Or it might be for someone else that does that. You know, someone performs an amazing feat and, you know, we can be minimizing or reductionist about how that kind of presents and what that might look like for them.

So it might just say, yeah, that was nothing, that's easy. Anyone can do that. Anyway, so that's one way. And we need to kind of catch that and we need to sort of pause and think about if that's fair, if that's accurate, if that's precise, what's the evidence, what's the objective truth, what's the subjective truth. And we can name the real effort and the real impact.

And, you know, good evidence is important here. So hopefully that can help a little bit. And these are thinking habits that can affect how you, all right, some ums and ahs going on there. So we'll fix that in a second. And what I'm going to do, I can't remember any other, there was one at 1749. Let's have a look at that one.

That means when we are being predictive or trying to predict a bad future as if it's already a fact, as if it's already come to pass, as if it's already happened. So when, for example, you might have... Why did I label that? Why would I have dropped the marker there? Let's go back. It might have... 17... 17... 17...

17. Let's go from 1740. ...as a cognitive distortion is... Excuse me. Is something that... Hmm. Okay. In clinical psychology as a cognitive distortion is... Something there. What we call fortune telling. So, fortune telling in clinical psychology as a cognitive distortion is... Excuse me. Is something that... Hmm. That means when we are being predictive or trying to predict a bad future as if it's already a fact, as if it's already come to pass, as if it's...

Okay. Let's go back over here. What we call fortune telling. So, fortune telling... I'm going to cut there. There's got to be a more precise way to do this. 1648? No. Why is it showing to you? Something's wrong. Hold on. In clinical psychology as a cognitive distortion... Why is it showing that there? What we call fortune telling. So, fortune telling...

In clinical psychology as a... In clinical psychology as a cognitive distortion... So, let me just chop it there. I wish it kind of just... Okay. Okay. So, the last thing I said was... In clinical psychology as a cognitive distortion is... Now, we're going to go over here. So, fortune telling... So, fortune telling... Let's cycle the scenes a little bit.

In clinical psychology as a cognitive distortion is... So, fortune telling... So, fortune telling... In clinical psychology as a cognitive distortion is... Excuse me. Is something that's... Very sloppy. That means... Something... When... When we are being predictive or trying to predict... When... When... If I say from when... Can I just chop it out from here? So, fortune telling in clinicals...

Okay. Then remove that. So, this might work better... If I actually pull it out from... The script. If I edit from the script... Rather than... That means when... That means when we are... Being predictive or trying to predict... A bad future. So, I think there's just some gaps in here. That's what's going on. No, no, no. What just happened?

What we call fortune telling. So, fortune telling... That means when we are being predictive or trying... If I chop it from here. It used to kind of highlight... It used to show... Say... So, over here... Uh... And I should... Um... Does... Is my... I should actually... Activate and enable my... Uh... Mouse... Cursor. Does that work? Can I do that?

Okay, good. And what about the clicks? Yeah. Show the clicks. Alright. And what else? Yep. That looks fine. Okay. So, now... If I'm over here... There used to be a way... When it sort of... I think it's... It might do that. I'm not... When... I'm missing... We are being predictive... Or trying to predict a bad future... As if it's already a fact...

As if it's already come to pass... As if it's already happened... Yeah. It's just keep... As if it's already happened... It was highlighting there... But... The screen scroll is... Is fighting with... My... My... Um... My cursor. So... Let's just bring it back here... And I will chop from... When... We are... Being predictive... Yep. From there. It's very slow.

It's not very slow. It's just... It's not as responsive as I would... Like for it to be. Otherwise, like... Editing... Video from... A website. It's like... When you think about it... It's pretty... It's pretty crazy. Fortune telling... Uh... Being predictive... Telling... So fortune telling... When... We are... Being predictive... Or... Trying to predict... A bad future... Mm-hmm. As if it's already a fact...

As if it's already come to pass... As if it's... As if it's already... Happened... So... When... For example... You might have... You know... Before a talk or a conversation... You might tell yourself... I'll freeze... And everyone will laugh... Or a very common one... I'm not good with names... Right? People kind of... Discount themselves... And so you end up going to that gathering...

And... You know... It comes to fruition... You... Again... That's kind of related to... What was the... Yeah... Oh gosh... Tip of the tongue... Much... Drop it in the comments... If you got it before me... Why is the guy picking his nose? I'm thinking of... When... Someone says... Self-fulfilling prophecy... Is what I'm thinking about... That's the one... Yeah... Did you...

I don't know if... I wonder if people got that in the comments... Let's see... I don't even know if I'm going to release this... It's just... But anyway... It's... What did I say? I saw a YouTube comment... At one point... Where... Someone was saying... Your first 50 videos... Are just... Practice... Or something like that... That doesn't... They don't matter...

None of them matter... In any case... I think that was the lot... So now... I'm going to run this... Thing over here... And what I'll do... I will... I found all these like... Filler words... And it does it automatically... So I haven't got time... I can't sit there... I mean... I've got... DaVinci Resolve... That I... Fiddle around with...

And I get it done a lot faster... Sometimes... But I'm still learning that... That's a... It's a lot going on there... But... This stuff interests me... It's... It's fun... So let's see how... Many silences... I can chop out there... Because I kind of do want it to... Come across a bit... Natural... Not... You know... Super fast... That's... It's...

It doesn't land... The information doesn't land... You hear it... But it just becomes slop... And... People don't really... I don't know if people... Like that... But anyway... Let's see... So there's filler words... And there's silences... So maybe I'll... I'll remove the silences... At that level... And then we'll see... I'm just going to pop in a command here... To...

My AI... To see... If we can do that... Because I want to... I want to... Work through some workflows... Where I'm actually... Showing my screen... My AI screen... While... While I'm... Prompting... While it's actually growing... And building... And I asked... Claude... To see if there's a way... To do that... Without me... Kind of exposing... Any personal... Information... Or private details...

You know... Emails... Names... You know... Just sensitive information... So... Let's see... So I asked... It's safe... Nothing on my account is touched... Blah blah blah... Okay... I'm curious... Because I want to know... Approved... Builded... I wonder if my... I made a... I made... I've built a whole bunch of stuff actually... I wish I could just showcase all of it to you...

And... That would be good... Because I made a... Gosh... What is it called? I have to find ways... It's a speech to text... App... So... Quick question... I want to know... How I can toggle between... The... Anonymized... Profile... And my original profile... Without surfacing... Any sensitive details... Let's see if that works... And I will show you this... Um...

Notice I say... Um... A lot... So... That's... Has this landed? Let's see over here... Okay... And then we're going to go to... Let's see how that sounds... You see... You see how the timeline has kind of... There's all these spaces in between... These are all... Whoa, whoa, whoa... Where'd that go? These are all... Gaps obviously... Okay... So... I'll also remove the filler words...

And then we'll play it back... And see how that... Sounds... It's so cringe... Have you ever had a thought... That felt... That felt true... But... Didn't show you the whole picture? So... In clinical psychology... We sometimes call this... A cognitive distortion... And it's a habit that can... Bend... Or... Make us misperceive... What actually happened... What might be happening in reality...

So... It can affect how we feel... How we think... How we behave... And so... Even how we make decisions as well... So... Sometimes... We... Do these things... And it's not... Right or wrong... It's just we have to... Exercise a little bit of... Attention and... Okay... So... I noticed the... Old music is in the background... So I've got to stop that...

And we're going to change... The sound to... What was it? The Zen... The Zen one? No, no, no, no... No... No... Let's try this one... If you're watching now... Or watching this later... No... Psychedelic... No... Psychedelic... Psychedelic... Hang drum... Hang drum... You know, I just need it to be a simple... It's a good selection though... See, I'm doing this manually...

Right now... But actually... I normally... Have... Programmed... My... Agent... To kind of... Do it programmatically... To do it programmatically... To actually... Send through a command... To have an automated workflow... Of... Of... Actually just landing it... Having a profile... And then pushing out the command... Having functions and arguments... Because... All of this is... Storybox... Audio... All of this is like...

AI connective at the moment... Like... Whether it's an MCP server... Or through... Computer use... Or just... Through... Through just... Just agentic... Agentic work... I don't know. Which one was the one I had earlier? I just had one before. Let's give that a try. Let's see what that sounds like. I don't want it too loud. Let's give it about 5%.

Can I boost the audio? Okay. Fade. We just loop. Does it just loop? Okay. Let's see how that sounds. And conscious thought about how we kind of go about this. So the goal is to notice them and challenge them, not to fight with yourself or make yourself wrong. So in this video, I'm going to go through some cognitive distortions that might be familiar to you, that are well known.

And this can kind of help you understand which ones apply to you and if you need to intervene and intervene. So let's get into it. The first one is – I can't hear the – I can't hear the audio. Did I mute? Yes, I did. The first one is – I can't hear the audio, but I can't hear the audio, but I can't hear the audio.

And in this way, it can kind of make us miss out on a bigger picture. So for instance, if you get one answer wrong in an exam or a test, you might conclude that you've failed the whole test. Or you might get overconfident and think that you've passed that we're flying colors because you answered one correct. We're taking too long on these.

So catch it when you notice it's happening and pause and try to kind of look for the middle path. Look for the – Now let's have a look at some – because this is a long – it's a 25-minute video. So when I say long, you know, relatively. Because to sit there and kind of go through the individual B-rolls and the captions – so it gets very detailed and long sometimes.

So keep that in mind. If this is something for you or not for you, I'll just save that. Because sometimes Submagic gets funny when you don't save. And you know what? If Submagic's listening to this – I never thought I'd be doing this sort of stuff. But if Submagic's listening, I don't have – I have chestnuts, but I don't have a sponsorship or anything.

This is not sponsored. So, you know, I just – I like it. I like using it. It makes content creation and content production, you know, easy access for solo operators like me. And when we get a bit more detailed into things, I can kind of show my programmatic way of doing some of this. Because I've got profiles for different channels.

And they've got templates and brand kits and standard operating procedures so that all of this is actually – when I upload – I don't even have to upload. So I save my video into a Google Drive or a drive that the AI can access. And then there are shell processes, local programs that are kind of being run through the terminal or whatever.

And the agent is kind of keeping track of all of those. So I've got a kind of – that's where sort of – and the agent takes care of that. So it uploads it, applies the edits, the templates, the captions, styles, sounds that I've done. And you don't kind of get a granular feel on this. So for this project, for the first 20 cognitive distortions, I stopped halfway because the video was getting long.

And SubMagic doesn't usually allow more than – I know, there's a limit. There's a limit. There's like so many gigabytes. And then you've got to upload a certain number of minutes. I think more than 30 minutes, it doesn't do it. So where are we going next? Let's – I don't know if I want to use any of those.

Okay. Let's get out of trim. Yeah, so the point of me telling you that was because over here, this whole flow of how I am – is this – can I stretch this out? Yeah, about there. How I kind of work out these to automate these, once I do this episode, once I record that and show you how you can programmatically and agentically configure and organize your stream deck, I'm going to just make this available.

Currently, this is upcoming. You see how it's – I've just staged these as upcoming. It's not – it's not available just yet because I haven't recorded it. I started recording and then I had some technical issues. So hopefully when I tell Claude to update my episodes, it's going to – it should – it should go ahead and kind of just take care of all of that.

But anyway, let's go back to the edit over here and I wanted to have a look at the scenes. Let's just have a quick look at the captions. And I'll make that title a little bit larger. All right, so, yeah, this is – how do we – oh, hold on. Yeah, that's the one. Okay, so if we look at – let's look at the caption style.

Are there any recent ones? What does that look like? Have you ever had a thought that felt true but didn't show you the whole picture? So, in clinical psychology – let's try it down. All right. In psychology, we sometimes call this a cognitive distortion. And it's a habit that can bend or make us misperceively happen to what might be happening in reality.

It's a habit that can bend or make us misperceively happen to what might be happening in reality. Because it's like a super large video, to apply those changes in real time and for the screen to update, it takes a bit. Let's get it back down to – it's too large anyway. Let's just reduce that to maybe – that's too small.

Maybe like a 30. Yeah, 31's good. And let's get that down to like a – not outside of frame. But maybe just slightly higher. So, like a – what is it at? How granular do you want me to get? 75? Is that where it was? Okay, let's leave it there. Too much. Too much fiddly-biddly. So, it can affect how we feel.

Pop emojis in as well. It's generating. So, you can do those all granularly. Granularly. Detailed and specifically. So, there's a lot there. So, let's go to captions now. And scenes. Scenes. Okay. It's too much. I can't sit there and go through these one by one. I would like to. It can affect how we feel, how we think, how we behave.

And so, even how we make decisions as well. So, sometimes we do these things and it's not right or wrong. It's just we have to exercise a little bit of attention and conscious thought about how we kind of go about this. So, the goal is to notice them and challenge them. Not to fight with yourself or make yourself wrong.

So, in this video, I'm going to go through some cognitive distortions that might be familiar to you, that are well known. And this can kind of help you understand which ones apply to you and if you need to intervene and when you need to intervene. So, let's get into it. The first one is called black and white thinking.

I think that's good. And do I need to change anything else? I will just save that. Now, built one correction from review. Just wait for that to land. Let's see. Oh, dear. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. In effect, how we feel. I will just save.
